1、Cleaning an eight-unit-train of “Fuxing”

How many liters of water do we use?

In Chaoyang EMU station of Beijing depot，There are two mobile skin cleaning machines, the weight of the equipment is about 2.5 tons, composed of water tank, cleaning brush, cab, etc., the volume of the water tank is 1000 liters, and the machine can clean a row of 8 carriages of the “Fuxing” with full water .

The washing machine is also equipped with a 400-liter sewage tank for cleaning the surface of the EMU. The sewage can be recycled through the pipeline under the brush . After the cleaning operation is complete, the staff will centrally discharge the sewage to reduce the water accumulation on the ground.

The water used by the mobile washing machine to clean the EMU needs to be softened, and the neutral or acidic cleaning agent is selected at the same time , which can reduce the damage to the appearance of the EMU.

2.How many trains of “Fuxing” can the mobile washing machine clean with a full charge? The mobile washing machine uses the battery as the power source, and the equipment can clean four rows of 8-unit-train of “Fuxing” at a full charge. It is not affected by the weather environment and the site, and the outer skin of the EMU is deeply cleaned during the driving process of no more than 3 kilometers per hour.

The cleaning brush of the equipment becomes a thick column at both ends and a thin column in the middle when it is turned at high speed to adapt to the streamlined design of the EMU body. The cleaning brush can automatically rise to 5 meters high and can also be tilted within a certain range to ensure the coverage of the cleaning of the EMU skin.

3.How about the cleaning efficiency? After professional training and repeated practice, the operators who drive the mobile washing machine can work alone, which is 3 to 5 times more efficient than the previous manual cleaning operation.

After the EMU train enters the maintenance warehouse and the contact line is powered off, the external cleaning operation can begin. The operators should first check the equipment condition, then fill the water tank with water, and add cleaning agent.

In the process of cleaning the outer skin of the EMU, the operator should strictly follow the line planned in advance to drive the equipment, and pay attention to the distance between the equipment and the EMU through the rearview mirror, monitoring screen, etc., to ensure accurate alignment and effective cleaning.

In order to ensure the safety of cleaning operations, various sensors are installed on both sides of the cleaning brush of the mobile washing machine, which can independently monitor some situations ,like the distance between the equipment and the EMU, the operation of the brush, and the spraying water and so on.

The body of the train is bright, the windows are clear, and the “Fuxing” EMU is about to receive various repair and maintenance operations after completing the skin cleaning to ensure that it welcomes passengers in the best condition.
